The area is just 20 km (12 miles) from Fano on the Adriatic coast: southwards are the beach resorts of the Riviera del Conero, such as Recanati; northwards, we come to Riccione, Rimini, and Cattolica.

Located in the heart of the Montefeltro area of the Marche, a short distance from Urbino, and just 20 km (12 miles) from the Adriatic coast, the Tenuta Santi Giacomo e Filippo is set in the verdant splendor of the La Badia nature reserve, where vineyards cling to hillsides, alternating with woodlands, and punctuated by small lakes. Named for the saints Giacomo (James) and Filippo (Philip), the estate (Tenuta, in Italian) is the fruit of an extensive restoration, of a centuries-old farming community (borgo, in Italian). Taking its cue from local tradition, this painstaking task involved the use of local materials, and sustainable practices, to ensure respect for the environment while creating a luxurious setting that would make a stay at the Tenuta Santi Giacomo e Filippo a truly memorable experience.

Featuring 22 rooms and 11 apartment-suites, the Urbino Resort is laid out across six of the buildings that made up this ancient farming community, each different from the next but all decorated to reflect the local setting, with furnishings hand-picked for the purpose and refined details providing the elegant finishing touches. Set in the nature reserve called the Oasi Faunistica La Badia, the Tenuta also includes an Organic Farm (Azienda Agricola), which is the contemporary incarnation of generations-old country traditions.
