Dear friends, this week our journey through the most beautiful hamlets in Italy is taking us to Liguria. After the dazzling beauty of Venice and the quaint charm of the Amalfi Coast, we will now explore the charming possibilities of a wedding in Cinque Terre.
This is a fascinating area, that has been drawing and enchanting tourists from all over the world for centuries. You only have to take a moment to contemplate the local scenery or even look at a postcard to understand why: this place is absolutely magical. More often than not, you will think you are looking at a composition, assembled as a painting by Mother Nature herself.

You can choose to get married by the sea, thus making the scenery the true protagonist of the event, or pick one of the many little coves on the eastern Ligurian coast, by the bright blue sea and sheltered by the majestic rocky shore.

You could also choose to get married in one of the many little old churches in the area, which will make the ceremony itself ever more suggestive and intimate. You can reach the Cinque Terre by boat or simply wander through the love pathways at your leisure.

Cinque Terre the Love Road

If you celebrate your wedding in Cinque Terre, you can’t miss the Via dell’Amore (Love Road). This is one of the most romantic pathways in the region, connecting the two villages of Riomaggiore and Manarola.

The pathway is a little under a mile long and it stretches over a steep seashore. The view here is breath-taking and the vivid colours and sweet scents have rightfully earned it the suggestive name of Love Road.

Another good reason to celebrate your wedding in Cinque Terre, beside the region’s natural beauty, is the heavenly local cuisine, born of an ancient tradition that has changed very little over time, and has kept most of its original flavour.

If you think of Liguria, you are probably and rightfully thinking of delicious trofie with pesto sauce, of flatbread and of the exquisite local fish. Wine is equally important here and it has just as ancient a tradition. The most famous local grape is probably the Sciacchetrà, a sweet and syrupy wine, full-bodied and richly scented.

A charming location with elegant venues, excellent food and all the romanticism you can handle. Have you ever considered a wedding in Cinque Terre? You probably should.
