Dear friend, our quest to find the best wedding venues in Italy has brought us to a very special place. Get ready to learn about the top 5 wedding venues in Milan.
If you have been following this blog for a while, you might be aware that I was born and raised in this city. Many know it as a fast-paced metropolis, but few have unlocked its secret beauty. Finding the perfect wedding venue in Milan can seem like a daunting task, but if you know where to look you will be actually spoilt for choice. There are several types of venues and a vast choice for each type, so that you can pick the best fit for the kind of reception you are planning.
What I have noticed over the years is that most couples prefer wedding venues to be out of town, expecting rural locations to be better suited to both celebration and relax. This is a common misconception: Milan will surprise you with stunning venues that defy the local stereotypes.
Most couples will opt for Italy’s magnificent northern lakes (Reas Also: The top 5 wedding venues on Como Lake) or the countryside around Pavia, but that requires a certain amount of travelling and inconvenience for both the couple and their guests. That’s why I compiled a list of the 5 top wedding venues in Milan: to show you where to get married in my beautiful city.
Wedding venues in Milan
The cloisters at San Barnaba
We are in the very heart of Milan, behind the Court of Justice, in a XV Century convent with beautiful cloisters and timeless gardens. This corner of Milan often appears to be untouched by the bustling surrounding it. You can shut the buzz of the city out in this peaceful corner of Milan: it is a relaxing escape that will allow you to host your event in style, in the four cloisters and in the suggestive frescoes hall, with its over 3000 square feet and gorgeous garden. This venue offers a perfect of the modern and the traditional.
Officine del volo
Officine del Volo is one of my favourite venues: stylish, unique and perfect for a wedding with a fresh and modern vibe. Located in one of Milan’s industrial areas, it boasts a crisp urban look and over 16000 square feet of usable space. What used to be the famed Caproni aeronautical workshop has been converted into an elegant and versatile venue of surpassing architectural beauty, with its post-industrial features adding to the building’s sophisticated design – the most notable of such features being the red brick facade, with grey stone additions.
Chateau Monfort is among the most lavish wedding venues in Milan. This showstopping historic building in central Milan boasts sumptuous interiors that look like they have come straight out of a fairy tale, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Chateau Monfort is a 5 star hotel in the heart of the City and will offer you every comfort on your special day. Multiple halls are available, allowing you to personalise every aspect of your reception. The Sala dell’Incantesimo is decorated in pastel colors with a floral theme, while the Sala e Segrete is the ideal choice if you are planning an imperial table recepion, and the Mezzanotte Lounge Bar by Venissa boasts a charming conservatory, under a crystal dome that will add the natural tones of a splendid sunset to your colour-scheme.
This is one of the most exclusive venues in central Milan. Posteria is a unique space, converted from what used to be an early XX Century customs office, in a perfectly preserved historic building. The main feature is a stylish open-space with two galleries, that give a sense of movement to the whole structure. The atmosphere is made even more suggestive and unique by an impressive skylight.
Palazzo Visconti Socrea
Palazzo Visconti Socrea could not be missing from any list of the top wedding venues in Milan. This is one of the grandest and most exclusive buildings you could find – and I am not just talking about Milan. Sumptuous and refined, it will grant unrivalled elegance to your wedding reception. This historic building was built in the XVII Century and its most distinctive feature is the stunning baroque decor.
